Yes, a thin layer. Water-based gel or a light serum lets the metal head glide instead of drag; a plain aloe vera gel from any pharmacy works. It wipes off the skin and rinses off the head.

It should not. Red and green warm the metal to 42 °C (108 °F), like a warm cup; blue has no heat. The pulse starts at level 1, the lightest: go up one level at a time and stay on the one that feels strong but comfortable.

If it stings, add a little gel or go down a level. If it still hurts, stop.

On the sides of the neck toward the back, from the base of the neck up to behind the ear. Then under the jaw and along the jawline, chin to ear. Slow strokes, always upward, always moving.

Never on the front of the neck: the throat, the windpipe, the Adam’s apple and the soft area on each side of the windpipe. Never near the eyes.

Red with warmth is the everyday light, and the one for night. Green also warms; blue has no heat, for a cool session or skin that flushes with heat.

Do not use Loomi Glide with a pacemaker or any other implanted electronic device, during pregnancy, with epilepsy, with metal implants in the face or neck, or on broken, sunburnt or irritated skin. Not for children.
